Can be hard to know if either the cardiac or depression is causing the symptoms. Can be a reaction to having a chronic illness. If the have depression in the hospital they are highly likely to have it 12 weeks later. Dont want just long live, but want a good quality of life. Issues can also occur from procedures that happen. Role of depression is better known than the role of anxiety. Anxiety role is less clear than depression. How you are looking at the data may be an in uence. Anxiety usually will go up with a traumatic medical experience. Sometimes this can persist up to 6 months. Too long after it can lead to another heart attack etc. Related to longer hospital stays and reduced quality of life. Panic attack can be misinterpreted as a heart attack.
