Exotic memory not being able to remember your past yourself (mental time travel) All cases of amnesia are different from one another because there is no lesion that is the same. Not all memories are consolidated the same way. Majority of our memory is knowledge, not personal memories. No distinction between semantic and episodic memory. Episodic (autobiographic) memories are mental time travel memories. To remember an episodic memory from our past, hpc is necessary (also necessary for the future: if this structure is gone, no memory about yourself that can be retrieved, but you still have facts about yourself (semantic) Memories that get reactivated change; they get stronger: memories about our past, and physiological traces are created in the hippocampus. Hippocampus contains traces of memories that are reactivated.
