More traditional talk therapy model (less playing games) Helps if clinicians are in the know about adolescent issues and pop culture. Standardized rating scale = methodology is standardized; tested for validity & reliability; score tells us if something is in normal range; tested in norm population. Giving intelligence tests that are standardized > report cards aren"t as accurate bc teachers give marks compared to other students (behaviour can cloud judgement) Consent comes from the parents (under age of 16) In school setting, any child under 18 needs consent. Need assent from child (child has to be ok with it) Recruitment takes a lot of time & very dif cult. Ex. baby einstein: classical music set to images. Improve lives meta-analysis = combine ndings from diff studies to provide effect sizes over larger sample validity depends on quality of systematic review.
