Two sides of cas: when you investigate cases of abuse in families (and whether the child is unsafe to stay with that family, once the child in the care of cas, finding permanent foster care or adoption. Mission: the cas of ottawa is committed to protecting the children and youth of our community rom abuse and neglect. We work in collaboration with community partners to ensure their well being and to strengthen the capacity of families and the communities in which they live. Vision: the well being of all children, youth and families is essential to the quality of life in our community. Funding: funded by the gov. of ontario (ministry of child & Youth services-mcys: non-profit, governed by an independent board of directors, one of 47 child protection agencies in ontario. Shift of paradigms: 1950"s-1970"s children placed in out of home care. Only looking at every negative aspect (risk focused).
