Parasomnias: disorders of partial arousal or disorders that interfere with sleep-stage transition. Sleep drunkenness excessive sleep inertia , extreme example of that slowness upon waking, major memory impairments, behaviours are usually kind of strange, wake up confused. Engage in behaviors not usually associated with sleep. Often ends by itself, sleepwalker returns to bed themselves. Not a good idea to wake them up, just guide them back to bed. Can be eating meals (must be unaware) Typically get up after an hour of going to bed. Piercing scream or intense fear, sits up in bed with eyes open, really afraid, but unresponsive. If shake and wake them up they will be very confused. Group of repeated movements usually head and neck that happen right before falling asleep. Usually found in children aged 1 or younger, some kids head bangers , lift heads and slam it down. Usually benign but wakes up other people, just random words.
