The need to affiliate : everyone has this need but at varying degrees. Belonging: its as compelling as the need for food. Solitude is the sate of being alone without being lonely. Solitude had for a long time been considered the same thing as loneliness. Individual difference, mostly based on feeling rather than actually being alone. Increased sensitivity to interpersonal information: very sensitive to information that links to the fact that you are lonely. People who experience social exnclusion usually have lower cognitive. If the exclusion is repetitive, than it can lead to low self esteem. The smaller the distance , the greater the probability that two people are going to interact on a regular basis. More exposure = more likely to be attracted to person. If you have an initial dislike than repeated exposure will increase your dislike of them will increase.
