The fallacies of common sense, and the principles of social research. Most people would say they are seeking attention. Sociologist look at this as a way to reclaim your body. Other sociologists would also see it as a way to send an extreme message. And other sociologist would view this as a right of passage. Sociologist look at the scientific standards, within society. We will look at how these standards differ. The sense we have in common, what everyone should know, widespread amongst everyone, what we all know. The fact that this belief is widespread, doesn"t mean everyone will still believe this. Women are more likely to be assaulted that man. Rates of murder and other violent crime have increased over the past 20 years. More sexual assaults are committed by strangers. Living together before marriage increases the chance of having a longer happier marriage. The fact that a belief is widespread among the population doesn"t make that belief true.
