Ex: woman pay more for haircuts than a man, black man are more likely to get pulled over than a white man. They investigate and challenge commonly held assumption. Ex: male nurses are gay because the job is a caregiver role which is a feminine role and male nurse combat this assumption by talking about how many women they have slept with. The sociological imagination: unpacking the concept c. wright mills. The ability to see the relationship between personal experience and the larger society. Mills described it as looking between personal experiences and the larger society. Looking at social troubles such as homelessness as public social issues. Seemingly personal issues are somehow related to the issues of the public as a whole.
