Document Summary
Sociology gone global: lifestyle change since ww2. We start to see the increase in conspicuous consumption. People would huddle around the tv like they did with the radio. People needed cars because they now lived in suburbia. Many houses were built - everyone had a house and a drive way plus a car. There is a romanticizing of the 1950s and early 1960s. Starts off as segregation issues and kicks off the 2nd wave feminism. Before these movement in the 1960s, there has not really been any movements since first wave feminism. During these times, we had things that we now refer to as hippies, some people lived in communes and gave rise to the environmental movements. Movements start to spin out quickly after this. Environmental movements move to anima"s rights, against animal testing; We start to education people during the 1950s, we start building schools, a by-part of that is that people start to learn more about inequalities.
