School became unwanted: knowledge could be passed around more through experience. Values of the counterculture: wanted to live free thought that they could give up everything. Life should be ecstasy : wasn"t cool to be violent, if you were hurt you had to hold it in. Usage of dope were asking deep questions of the urban-industrial order: over 3. 5 million people experimented with communal life, wanted to have a direct linkage to the earth and to god. Transition to being a hippie: difficult for people to start out, didn"t work because it was too hard. Music: meaning changed drastically began to talk about the issues that were going on in the world, didn"t want to separate the people from politics. Felt like all of the issues in society were place there because of politics. The hippie revolution/youth rebellion: it was personal, not political, so many individuals had chosen to live by these rules.
