Shared norms, values are the base of social order. Smaller scale societies- the division of labour is less specialized/differentiated. May be organized along traditional gender lines (mother is the home maker and father is the breadwinner) People are very similar to each other. Mechanical solidarity through likeness (similarity, shared norms, values etc) Members of the society share the same values, based on common tasks and common life situations and experiences. Most of them share the same moral values and follow the rules of the collective group.
