To understand larger structures, we must examine micro social relations, things that occur within our everyday lives, not just government and institutions: marx critique of capitalism in his work. Dyad and triad as method to examine complexity of simplest forms of social relations within these, we can see reflexion of larger society. Missing examination of power through this lens (critique) the assumption is that there is an equal level of agency. Power relationships: two types of domination: [consent] (simmel in berberoglu, p. 50) this is the controversial statement. The person has to consent to be a subordinate. Even if we have choice, we are influenced to make choices based on the current economic order. This set of relations requires those of below power. Our relations are now based on these individual interests. Having a life that is connected on the interest that we have gives that connection.
