" (p. 295) Legends are in the form of animals or birds because we understand all creation to be one. We know them [animals and birds] as humans. Without them we cannot say i am one, we have to include them. We also have to include the trees out there. " (p. 295) When they learn their culture and language, then they are a whole person now.
