Males in our species tend to give more of a parental effort to their offspring in comparison to other mammals. Within the species, there is a persistent pair bond that occurs consistently between the pair bonds- marriage. Actual definition of marriage may vary but universally, the idea of sexual exclusive access between two mates. Humans have extended bonded relationships. - classmates, kinship groups, etc. Children and the elderly don"t have to get food for themselves- other sources. Everyone has a concept of close and distant kin. Kinship is understood in terms of genealogical descent or common ancestor: may be cultural & biological.
