Document Summary

Encoding is how we construct meaning into our communication. We also have to consider how it is deconstructed (decoding) Eventually, despite how many messages you get, your brain filters out the information and cope with the amount received. You tend to not notice what is happening. Ie. nose blindness - some people can spell something nasty but some do not as they are use to the smell or their brains filter the smell. Phatic communication - there just to send a small positive message (directly or indirectly) When we are presented with certain facts, we may not be given the full news. By understanding how the receiver is decoding (getting the message to someone else), we need to know how to decode it. If do not know to decode, then it can be difficult for the receiver to decode as well. Means by which content is communicated between an origin and a destination.
