Today"s lecture is very important for your qualitative assignment. Focus on qualitative approach (more intuition is involved). Positivism (external world): even though they have different life history, if they are true to positivist approach, they will come up with the same answer. Qualitative - your background will always affect how you see things; thing about the qualities of things. If researching a quantitative site, you will not affect it. Usually things of the past, but it can also be used in today"s society (ex. technology). If you look at what people are tweeting on twitter, you don"t need to interact with them. It may be the case they spend time with people on twitter or interview things. Look at anything curated or modified by people. The word data" really meaning something that comes from a census. Look at what was in their, what was selected and what was not selected.
