Document Summary

"attitude = sum of belief (r)(belief- if you get drunk what is the probability of your salient beliefs coming true-expectancy?) and evaluation (e)(evaluation- how goof or bas is that salient belief to you?). In this situation it depends on the person"s subjective norms about the behaviour. ), we then rate these components based on important reference, such as my partner/my close friends/my new friends/people in the bar. Then when we rate these, we are able to calculate subjective norms. = sum of normative beliefs (nb) and motivation to comply (mc). So, if we predicted just from attitudes we would predict that the person will go out and get drunk, but if we also look at the social norms we would predict that person would not go to get drunk. Then, attitude + subjective norms = intention, so from before: +9+(-8)=1, so on a hypothetical scale, they have an intention of 1 to do the behaviour.
