PSY320H5 Study Guide - Final Guide: Theory Of Planned Behavior, Theory Of Reasoned Action, Internal Control
Document Summary
Describe the complete theory of planned behaviour but break each of the three components down that go into the behavioural intention component down, and describe in terms of fazio node model. Use one example to bring it all together and predict a behavioural outcome. The theory of planned behaviour is a modified version of the theory of reasoned action; it added one new component. Theory of reasoned action: primary predictor of behaviour is behavioural intention - explicit plans or motivations to commit a specific act. These intentions partly, but not entirely, reflect the personal attitudes of individuals, which is the extent to which they perceive this act as desirable or favorable. These attitudes reflect both cognitive beliefs about the act, i. e. harmful, as well as affective evaluations, i,e, unsuitable. In addition, the degree to which significant individuals, such as relatives, friend, or colleagues, condone this act, called subjective norms, also affects intentions.
