Culture - the sum practices, language, symbols, beliefs, values, ideologies, and material objects that people create to deal with real-life problems. We pass our cultures on generation to generation. Culture is made up of ideas, behaviors, possessions, etc. Culture is a tool kit that we develop to survive. Language (sapir-whorf) to try and describe culture, we interact with the world, we develop language to explain what we observe, language helps us describe the world. Values what we believe and how we think. The language we are programmed to speak inluences how we see the world. Core norms that most believe are essential for survival in their group. Important enough that they are essential and will receive punishment. Cannot get along if people take your belongings. Ethnocentrism - we judge others based on what we are used to (i. e. we eat with forks, we may judge those who eat with hands)
