Power in numbers: best efforts with crime prevention is to team up- police based in schools, private security companies patrolling neighbourhoods, etc. Behavioural reinforcement/modification: modifying behaviours of individuals in the community, changing behaviour, and educating individuals so that they won"t be victims, rebuild values in communities. Crime flourishes in neighbourhoods that do not have strong ties, don"t care, etc. Ad ho single-issue groups (shaming the johns program) A lack of community leads to a spiral of decline". More community equals less crime: more organized a community the less the crime, however may not have the same effect in all communities. Community as shared set of attitudes- a common sense of belonging.
