Then create questions related to each conceptual area and item. Begin with demographic questions: age, educational levels, occupation, residence, etc. Then ask important, but non-sensitive questions, relating to first topic area. Then ask sensitive questions relating to the topic area. Then begin a new topic area, with non-sensitive questions first. Repeat sequence for all other topics: make each question create a transition into the next. Essential questions: these questions concern the central focus of the study. Probing questions: these questions draw out more complete answers form respondents. Interviewer must be aware of what is not mentioned to have respondents elaborate or fill in the silences: be able to listen and think at the same time.
