Document Summary

The populaion of one species become geneically isolated and there are no gene low, then the populaion geneically diverge from each other due to natural selecion, geneic drit or mutaion. Thus they will be recognized as disinct species if they are able to interbreed, have disinct morphology, and form independent branches on phylogeneic tree. Allopatric speciaion: a physical barrier divides a populaion where there is no gene low. It can be caused by vicariance and or dispersal. Dispersal founder efect can cause iniial stages of divergence. Mutaions can give rise to diferent allele in groups. Natural selecion and geneic drit can lead to independent changes in allele frequencies in groups. Closely related species found in paciic and caribbean area. Sympatric speciaion: a subgroups form within a populaion occupying the same geographic region (girafe). Specializaion or geneic changes in subgroup reduce gene low. There are three ways in which we can get sympatric speciaion: host races, polyploidy, and chromosomes rearrangements.
