Vertebral border of margins of ribs 1-9 scapula. Depresses and protracts superior margins of ribs scapula. Occipital bone and spinous processes of thoracic vertebrae: muscles that move the arm, anterior view. Long head- supraglenoid tubercle of scapula shoulder , downward rotation of scapula and elevates neck. May elevate, retract, depress or rotate scapula depending on other muscles and extend neck. Flexes the lower arm: posterior view, rotator cuff- muscles that stabilize the glenohumeral (shoulder) joint. Humerus scapula: other muscles that move the arm (posterior view) Adduction and medial rotation at the shoulder: muscles that move the forearm and hand, flexion. Long head- extension at the elbow and adduction at the shoulder: pronation. Supinates the forearm: muscles that move the hand and fingers, muscles of the wrist that produce flexion.
