Document Summary

We talked about bulk feeding, the feeding mechanism that most organisms use, just like us. But there are others, like deposit feeding is when you just ingest food items from the solid material lives on. They live in a muddy environment, and they eat the mud and separate the mud to nutrients that they can use any nutrients. Another example is earthworms, which use eats soil, trying to find any nutrients that it can use. Today"s example of deposit feeding is called the gastropods (ex: snails). So on a surface, it sticks the radula out and uses it to scrape any materials on the surface. So that"s why you can just put snails in an aquarium because they help scrape out any algae in the surface. This helps you avoid doing any work, and the snail gets their food by using their radula. The radula is very small that sticks out during feeding.
