Document Summary

Lecture 4 slides: flies are mimicking the jumping spiders but it is aimed at the any vertebrate predators. We are testing the wing size, predator and the waving display, but we have to keep the prey type environment, size of fly same. The groups were testing, display, markings, both and the one with no change. Group a and b were best at surviving as they had the display and the marked wings. Darwin"s finches have diversity in food types and beaks types. They are all diverse even though same ancestors. The vampire bird: evolved to eat other birds as the island did not have any vegetation. Dry conditions make the seeds dry and large which increased the beak size. When the second drought came, the beak size actually decreased because of the new species. The ones that survived were the ones that had small beak size and different food then the main competitor.
