What the molecular mechanism by which a set of hs proteins are turned on at the same time (coordinate induction - at the same time) not just hsp70 thats induced but also 90 and the low molecular weight proteins. Mechainsm rst worked out in tissue culture systems by people interested in turning on or off of gene expression used tissue culture and hs as a model system to see how sets of genes are turned on together. 2 key players in the coordinate induction of hsps 2 players are. 1. the hs element (hse) - a dna seq. which is a pentamer - of 5 nucleic acids withth the sequence ngaan where n = variable nucleic acid. This de nes the hse - a speci c dna pentamer seq as shown above and this seq. is present in the promoter region of all stress inducbile hs genes.
