Document Summary

D65: parkinson symptoms are resting tremor, posture and slow movement, main treatment is l-dopa. Lost dopamine is the main cause: dyskinesia is a disk movement, parkinson patients can no show expression, strip of black cells with is dopaminergic neurons. Color due to melatonin is completely disappeared in pd patients. In order to be considered as a pd patients they need to experience 2/3 symptoms: lewi bodies are round and contain certain misfolded proteins and this defines pd psychology, we do not know why pd occurs. But can be genetic: mitochondria have dimishes function. Even the number of mitochondria in the snc is fewer: sirtuins are cytoprotective and increase longevity. Sirt1-7 exist in mammals: sirt3 is the major mitochondrial protein deacetylase. It is crucial for regulating key processes in mitochondria: elevating nigral sirt3 levels in vivo will provide a multi-pronged approach to protecting mitochondrial function.
