Not only a particular manner of studying our world, but it also encompasses the body of knowledge we have accumulated about it. Basis of science is to not approach a problem from a biased view (i. e. , to b objective) This does not mean that environmental scientists cannot be environmentalists, just that they are not necessarily so. Different philosophies on our environmental future: cornucopians vs cassandrans. Human ingenuity will see us through our environmental problems via new technologies and the such. No matter what happens, we will find a way to adapt or fix it. Cassandra - mythical princess of troy who prophesized about dire future scenarios. All is lost because of our impact on the environment. Says that what we doing to our earth will result in utter destruction. Both been proven to be semi correct over time.
