Focuses on the impact of pollutants on human health. Consists of two parts: environment and health. Effects of environment on human health is so great and includes : air, water, soil, biota (animals, plants, other humans, manmade environment (e. g. walls, carpets) This course will focus on manmade environment such as manmade physical risks, biological risks. Your environment is your health, but it"s not the only factor influencing your health. Other things that affect your health other than environment is genetics (genetic makeup) In it"s broadest sense, environmental health comprises those aspects of human health, disease and injuries that are determined or influenced by factors in the environments . Factors in the environment that cause injuries and diseases. There are interactions with genetic traits and with social/ behavioral stressor; so, there are interactions but not with each other. People living a modern western lifestyle create, use and dispose of lots of stuff : e. g. cars, cellphones, cosmetics, pesticides, herbicides, gasolines, pharmaceuticals.
