Document Summary

Lecture 7- biological hazards and human health: most of these bacteria"s if you are healthy do not cause any problems, they are beneficial. If we have microorganisms, biological organisms in our body, they cause problems. But when you compare them with bacteria and virus they are bigger: aerobic with oxygen. If they are in environment that does not satisfy there needs. Temperature, ph, pressure, nutrients do not meet the needs to survive, they go into spores and survive. And inside the body they can awake up and cause problems: viruses are very tiny and do not have a full cell. They can not survive outside the host: our system knows all proteins inside our body. Then it starts to produce antibodies to destroy it: active do something so human body can produce its own antibody. Takes some time: passive inject already ready antibodies. Sanitation use chemicals like alcohol or boil water used to kill bacteria.
