Document Summary

75% of earth"s surface is covered with water, and lots of salty water so not much fresh water available. Water is sculpturing the planet, creating shapes and rivers cutting channels. If very concentrated contaminant in waste then when reaches water it gets diluted and reduces risk, so useful in reducing hazards. Ocean and saline lakes huge percentage, only small tiny portion is fresh water (~2. 6%). Lots of fresh water in ice so not readily available, and some in groundwater. Some areas have lots of water but far away from where it is needed and so needs to be transported. Water conservation is not easy and not cheap, something has to be done. We have little water, but we use a lot, and is expected we will use more and more. All water that is removed from lake/river never returns back to it. Some portion is returned, ideal would be if everything returns back.
