Don"t really need to memorize but know that there is a difference. Bulk density is one of the most important calculations that factor into pore space. A lot for engineering projects deals with managing soil/water preserves. In some places, there is a lot of draught but in others (ie. manitoba) there more freq. extreme floods. Polarity allows them to cohere to one another and adhere to other things (anything that is vely charged) Water molecules are more coherent to the water molecules around it than the air: there is a greater attraction b/w water molecules than water and air molecules. This is why small bugs can float on top of the water and where the surface of the water is being maintained even when there is pressure put against it. At the surface at any water thing, it will always be pulled down and that"s why meniscus is formed.
