Document Summary

Zonbi refers to a recently deceased person who has been received, and enslaved by vodou master. Zombie was the fear that one would be a slave forever: reflects fear of permanent enslavement, counts of haitian vodou practices 1929. In these films zombies would be able to turn back into human, once the zombie master was defeated that would signal the resolution of the film. In the first movie he never calls them zombies, he calls them gools (living dead figure) First you have to sell the movie to a producer. Smaller films have to make the film first then show the producers, in hope of being chosen to be printed in film. Films are in constant battle for cinema screens. In the first weeks the theatre would only take 10% of the profit whereas the distributor would take 90%, thus the theatre had to reply on other sales for profit (this is why popcorn price was high)
