After the persians leave the two big states, fight. Athenians expand to black seas; stability within an alliance and political stability as well as economic stability during this time. Project their imperial power through polis related features of the identity through their religion. Greek had stone seating and built into the hill side (roman seating is not naturally occurring) But gets popular in the classical period: tragic playwrights, plays form an important aspect of athenian self discussion, religious aspect cause during festivals, competitive aspect; audience judges which play is the best, one wins. With the stories: presentation of mythological stories, but discuss issues that are relevant to the contemporary athenians (tragedy) Issues are talked about in the complicated way but having these discussion in real life: comedy.
