Leading: heart disease, cancer, cerebrovascular disease, chronic lower respiratory tract disease, unintentional injuries, diabetes mellitus. Actual causes of death: tobacco use patterns of health and disease. Disease tends to be distributed in population according to predictable patterns. Identifiable groups based on age, sex, social status, ethnicity.
