Urbanization is really happening on regional scale country, global level: it is always specific. From demographic perspective, urbanization doesn"t happen to one city alone. First time in history that urban pop is larger than rural pop. % of total population growth in different regions. @ the beginning, less developed regions, rural populations was where global pop was coming from less developed regions. Urbanization in developed parts of the world are not necessarily contributing to global growth. In more developed parts of the world the increases in growth rate are very small. In less developed parts of the world, there are larger growth rates.
