Sonorants: nasals, liquids, glides: relatively free airflow, great acoustic energy, more sonorous. Coronals: alveolars, alveopalatals, palatals: blade of tongue contacting alveolar ridge or hard palate. Anteriors: bilabials, labiodentals, interdentals, alveolars; produced at front of mouth. Note: a natural class must apply to all/only the sounds it describes. Recall phonetics: the study of the physical properties of sound.
