Document Summary

There is something about lying which is inherently wrong independent of any situation: case 1: the professor. He has a student who would often show signs of deep, suicidal thoughts. The student is later found dead, and his mother who is a devout roman catholic asks the professor is he suspected suicide: case 2: the sick mother. A mother is extremely ill and close to her death. The doctor treated her to the best of his ability, without informing her how close she was to death. When the mother directly asks her son if the doctor is hiding something from her, to keep her happy the son says no, even though he is aware of her diminishing health situation. She is happy for the rest of days alive: case 3: break up. Mary and john break up, and her roommate are happy as she knew there relationship had made them incompatible and unhappy.
