Persuade the courts to strike down an unjust law (seems like the most practical way to go) Democratic deficit (the key idea: each person has an equal influence over political outcomes) More and more courts are starting to recognize gay marriage as a right (45 years later) Utilitarianism (deterrent perspective) according to this approach, the reason why we punish people is to prevent them from committing crimes.
