Sources of information: elites and influential (elite effects) Selective exposure: people who are conservatives tend to lean towards conservative structures that better their understandings. Mechanisms of information effects: agenda setting, framing, priming. Sources of predisposition: experience, interests, context (region, personality, genetics. In this case, they are all likely to have their own acquaintances and this network spreads out across society very quickly. The information you get from your acquaintances is most likely to be new information whereas in closed networks the information is probably something you"ve all discussed: weak ties tend to produce opened networks. Part i: the players in political science: political parties. The green party knows its never going to win but it still tries to influence politics. There are 3 major parties in canada: leaders of the parties, they have members of parliament, they also have members outside of parliament, the key role of political parties is that they connect citizens to government.
