Myelin sheath: coats the axon and insulates it; increases conduction, stops transmission from other nerves from effecting this one (signal can"t cross) Ms (multiple sclerosis): de-myelinisation of nerves; inefficient transmission of neural signals and transmissions get crossed which results in ms symptoms. Some do opposite, bind enough to block the site but not enough to fire nerves: stops neurotransmitters from going through.
