PSYA01H3 Lecture Notes - Lecture 13: Color Blindness, Critical Role, Ganglion Cell
Document Summary
When looking at a picture, we understand what it is quickly: like fireworks in niagara falls, memory connections, what is coming in from the world (sensation) and memory systems. Perception is input from the raw world (bottom up info), along with processes from the brain trying to recognize it (top- down) Sometimes we can perceive things that are different from what we are actually sensing. Taste and smell are primitive and cortically related: we will be focusing on sensation and vision. Light energy in the world that takes shape in forms of frequencies. We as humans can only see a tiny band of all the light energy we know of in the world. We have a feeling that we see everything and hear and feel everything in the world but we don"t. We cannot interact with a lot of things in the world. Roygbiv is the colour sequence that we can see.
