Long term survival: fixing tissue etc: sympathetic. Flight or fight mode: anytime something suddenly happens our. Focuses on short term survival instead of long term survival bodies go into the sympathetic mode. The 4 f"s: feeding, fleeing, fighting and making love. Mothers have lifted cars to save their child. Linked to goals and desires autonomic muscle sends to signal to let go, Somatic is overriding the autonomic system (it is not overtaking b/c the system is still there but it overrides it) Inter-neurons relay information to central nervous system and back to the motor neurons, which are on the muscles.
