Document Summary

Less frequent and with higher amplitude as we go deeper into sleep, except for at the end of stage 4 we end up with strange things e. g. parasomnias and rem cycle (deepest sleep) Stage 4 is what the body likes, but as you get further into sleep the more rem you get (cycle changes further into the night) Night terrors happen during stage 4 and you wake up with adrenaline and terror. Nightmares actually have content and you can sometimes wake up with adrenaline. Habitual tasks seem to be immune to sleep disruption, only those that require deep though seem to be affected by lack of sleep. E. g. marathons are less impacted vs. things like chess or tennis. Memory has 2 steps: 1) interacting with the information (the better you encode the information the better you retain it: consolidating the information (strengthening it) Better sleep leads to better recollection of things/better consolidation.
