Lecture 1: there is no soul in psychology. We as humans have been looking out at the world for a very long time, experimenting with the world, attempting to understand it. It took a long time for that same curiosity and drive to be implemented inwards on us making us the subject. Science is based on the notion that the thing u are studying behaves under some sort of rules and physical laws. That can eventually be understood, specified, and used to predict future behaviour. But if something is assumed to be driven by a spiritual force then science cannot study it. B/c science does not study spiritual forces. If we are people of souls, and believe in souls how did we eventually get to. Everything in the world is made out of 4 elements: air, earth, fire, water. Their is some force that intended things to happen.
