Document Summary

Medical doctors: conscious is the state of being awake and alert. Animals are said to be not self-aware as they only react to stimulus but they don"t think of them in a deeper way; they don"t realize there own existence. Our behaviour can result in conscious and unconscious behaviours. Intentionally: somethings are not always intentional random thoughts. Unity: you can"t be conscious of more then one thing at once; able to process many things @ once but you are not conscious of all these things @ the same time. Selectivity: when you daydream in class; we select what things become conscious and not. Transience: moves from one thought to another; we try to focus on one thing but sometimes it is di cult to keep from moving from one thought to another. A conscious state is a qualia: people go through emotional states. Some psychologist say that consciousness is just a side a ect of the biological machine.
