Document Summary

There is a claim that people develop multiple personalities as a protective device. I. e. have a drunk and abusive father act one way (one personality) with the abusive father and act one way (second personality) when the father is normal one personality"s memories don"t get transferred. But really, we each have different personalities depends on the context of our surroundings. It is like operant conditioning in the context of personality behaviour. When we are little, we watch older people and model their behaviour and our personality is a function of what they do and the reactions they receive for their actions. Everything on tv is created and often doesn"t mimic doesn"t what happens in real life why we don"t allow children to watch too much tv. Modelling works best when people are in the right environment and seeing the right environmental reinforcers.
