Some aspects to consider: side a: people with mental health issues are to be treated queally as others, side b: a classmate displayed a psychotic episode in class last week. They reveal to you that they were addicted to drugs for years before you met and finished rehab 1 year ago. Social stigma: the extreme disapproval of (or discontent with) a person or group on socially characteristic grounds that are perceived, and serve to distinguish them, from other members of a society. Stigma may then be affixed to such a person, by the greater society, who differs from their cultural norms. Many people with mental health problems and mental illness often experience stigma negative attitudes and the negative behaviors they produce.
