So how does our interactions with groups and other people influence our decisions and who we are. Closest cousin to social psychology is personality psychology. Social psychology tends to focus (cid:373)o(cid:396)e o(cid:374) situatio(cid:374)s so ho(cid:449) does (cid:272)ha(cid:374)gi(cid:374)g the situatio(cid:374) affe(cid:272)t the thoughts, e(cid:373)otio(cid:374)s a(cid:374)d actions of people. On the other hand, personality psychology focuses more on stable differences between individuals. Sociologists are trying to explain the behavior of people due to different situations, but sociologists usually look more over group levels compared to social psychologists. So for example, a sociologist may look at divorce rates within a country. they usually do group level analyses. Social psychologists might look more within an individual level. What are the factors within a relationship that may cause an increase in divorce rates over time.
