Document Summary

Depending on people"s focus, the concept of emotion can be studied in a variety of different ways. Hard to express what the true definition of emotion is. Traits, or dispositional tendencies to chronically experience certain feelings: mood, temperament, emotional disorder. People differ in emotional reactions, even to the same event, so emotions are useful in making distinctions between persons. Older emotion theories (e. g. , james-lange theory) assumed that different emotions have distinct patterns of physiological responses. Evidence shows that most emotions activate the sympathetic nervous system, leading to increased heart rate, blood pressure, and skin conductance (sweaty hands) Seeing how the amygdala is activated often use fmri. Emotion regulation leads to emotional experience then physiological feelings: then how we express those emotions. Our emotional regulation can moderate the relationship between the cognitive appraisal as well as the experience and expression of that emotion. Even in emails, we can express emotions (for ex. , by using emojis)
